If there is one skill that I want to be able to gift to my son, effective communication it is.

Self-awareness

I could enjoy life a lot more if I stepped out of denial, and accepted some of the things that I know very well about myself. The theme could then be "cooperation with self", rather than "struggle against self".

Perhaps a motto for the 34th year?

Examples:
- Short naps in the evenings invariably extend overnight
- Reading IS my favorite activity
- Working from a non-work location is not my style
- Exercise does not come naturally to me
- I will not deliver on something UNLESS I make a commitment
- I cannot move mountains over the weekend
- I have no strong passions
- I do not have unrelenting ambition
- I easily get bored, but have a great capacity for putting up with it
